Terms of Service

By accessing or using Defyne ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. What the Service Is and Is Not
Defyne is a desktop application and companion web service that enables running and coordinating multiple AI coding agents. Defyne is a tool, not an AI provider. We do not supply AI model access - you connect your own API keys from third-party providers.
The Service is intended for software development workflows. It is not intended for use in safety-critical systems, medical devices, legal advice, or autonomous financial decisions.
2. Acceptable Use
You may not use the Service to:
- Generate content that violates applicable law or third-party rights.
- Circumvent the terms of service of any AI provider you connect.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract proprietary components of Defyne.
- Resell or sublicense Defyne without written permission.
- Attempt unauthorized access to our systems, other users' accounts, or databases.
- Use the Service for spam, abuse, or harassment.
3. Intellectual Property
Defyne and all related intellectual property are owned by or licensed to Defyne. You retain all rights to code, data, and outputs you create using the Service.
4. Account Responsibilities
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at support@defyne.app if you suspect unauthorized access.
5. Third-Party AI Providers
Defyne connects to third-party AI APIs using keys you provide. Your use of those providers is governed by their own terms of service. Defyne is not responsible for the outputs, availability, or pricing of any AI provider.
6. Disclaimers of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.
7. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DEFYNE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED USD $100 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
8. Termination Conditions
We may suspend or terminate your access for violation of these Terms with 7 days notice, or immediately for serious violations. You may terminate your account at any time by emailing support@defyne.app.
9. Changes
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will provide at least 14 days notice before material changes take effect.
